in….
A new school year has begun and Mr. Cappozzo and Mrs. Diane are excited! Every morning, the children will begin their day with a Language, Math, and Geography packet warm up. In math, the class is doing an overview of lessons they have learned in the last few years. Accessing this prior knowledge will help them learn the new material quickly. Our reading time includes a story that is followed by questioning to check for understanding. So far, everyone has been very attentive. Geography is our focus for this month and the students are working on acquiring map skills to move into state identification. In preparation for the upcoming state lessons, please assist in practicing at home on www.sheppardsoftware.com/web_games.htm. The class has been very well behaved in all their specials and showing a real interest. This positive attitude is all thanks to the students, the teachers, and especially our social worker, Mrs. Petts. Mr. Petts has spent some time with all the students and has helped them develop plans to keep making good choices. Each week we will be continuing our Good Bee Awards with a classroom drawing for 1st and 2nd place, along with a school-wide drawing for one lucky winner.
Coming up: Mr. Cappozzo's Tailgate Party at the end of September; information will be sent home with your children. That is all we have for today so until next time: BE PROUD OF YOUR CHILD!
