October Newsletter
_ Hello Parents,
We had another wonderfully productive month in Mr. Cappozzo’s class. This month your child had the opportunity to use their creativity in designing their very own pumpkin for Halloween. Each student really enjoyed the activity and we’re excited to bring them home to share with the family. Your child also made pumpkin bars in class that they were able to share with each other and peeled their very own apples to dip in caramel. Let’s not forget about the exciting day that we spent in Bowen Park to reward each of the students in Oak Crest for making good choices and exemplifying positive behaviors. Academically there has been a lot going on in your child’s class. Fourth graders are mastering their ability to multiply and divide; even teaching me how sharing is important with regard to remainders! Third graders are honing their skills in regrouping and are now ready to move into multiplication as well. Science kicked off in our final week and we’re learning about Color and Light; be sure to ask your child about ROY G. BIV! November is going to explore your child’s creativity as Mr. Cappozzo will be sending home permission slips for your child to begin building their very own website; maybe you can learn from your child on building your own Multiplication will be a focus in November and we are expecting mastery from all! Students are continuing to add leafs to their reading tree and priding themselves on their increased fluency and comprehension.
Continue encouraging your child to make good choices and ask them what they’ve learned.
